The Firestone Grand Prix is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers with a can-do attitude!
Volunteering at the Event is a unique and fulfilling experience that offers great insight into one of the biggest annual sporting events in Florida! An event of this scale and scope would not be possible without the dedication and support of our fabulous volunteers. We hope you will join our team!

2022 VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED.

There are a number of different positions available for you to take part in at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
All Volunteers are expected to: 
  • Interact with event staff, team leaders, guests and fellow volunteers in a courteous manner, with understanding of event policies set in place.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude and a general knowledge of the track layout and on-track activities.
  • Familiarize themselves with the event site layout to be able to provide proper assistance and answer guest questions accurately.
  • Provide a schedule outlining their hours of “availability” for race Weekend, and not leave their post without having a replacement.
  • Be flexible to work other various tasks assigned by team leader throughout the weekend
  • Make sure to take breaks and get fresh air and enjoy the event every now and then!

When completing your online application, please first read the below position descriptions and rank your position selection(s) in order of preference. There is NO GUARANTEE you will be placed in your preferred position, however we do ensure a fun and eventful weekend.

VOLUNTEER TEAMS

 
Access Control Team

Team Leader: Eric Stockwell 
The Access Control Team will be responsible for:

  • Assist in checking passes and ensuring proper credentials are being used by individuals at various locations throughout the event
  • Assist with crowd control and safety at the paddock gates at busy times.
  • Providing access to the IndyCar Paddock, Pit Lane, autograph sessions, and other areas as needed.
  • Respond to changing needs throughout the weekend and may be asked to move from one area of the event site to another with little notice.
  • Help control access to the event, to restricted areas adjacent to the track, and Pit Lane.
  • Assisting with pre scheduled pedestrian crossing operations at specific locations around the track.
  • Check for proper credentials at restricted areas, and direct patrons around the circuit.
