The Annual NTT INDYCAR SERIES Event Will Move to April 23-25, 2021

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (Jan. 6, 2021) – The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has been rescheduled to April 23-25, 2021, officials from the City of St. Petersburg, Green Savoree St. Petersburg, LLC (GSSP) and INDYCAR confirmed today. It will move from March 5-7 to a later spring date when the feasibility of hosting a greater number of fans is possible.

"I want to thank our friends at INDYCAR and our partners at Green Savoree for putting the health and safety of fans first. Each of these races takes an incredible amount of work from hundreds of dedicated professionals, and I know the decision to move the date of the race is not made lightly,” said St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman. “I appreciate the drivers, teams, staff, and most of all the fans for their patience and understanding. I look forward to welcoming everyone to the next Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.”

NASHVILLE (October 23, 2020) – Bridgestone Americas, Inc. today announced a three-year extension for the Firestone brand’s title sponsorship of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The new agreement continues a partnership that began in 2014 and maintains Firestone’s naming rights on the NTT INDYCAR® SERIES event through the 2023 season. 

Bullard Stars in the Ring as WWE Superstar “Titus O’Neil” on Monday Night Raw!

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (October 23, 2020) – Thaddeus Bullard, professionally known as WWE Superstar “Titus O’Neil”, will serve as grand marshal of this weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the season finale event for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

Before the green flag waves at 2:32 p.m. ET on Sunday, Bullard, the Tampa, Fla. resident, will give the command for INDYCAR drivers to start their engines. He will also participate in pre-race ceremonies.

NTT INDYCAR SERIES Championship Will Be Decided on the Streets of St. Petersburg

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (October 14, 2020) – The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will release a limited number of general admission tickets for sale today (October 14) at 2 p.m. ET. The event was postponed from its original March weekend and is rescheduled to October 23-25, 2020. The picturesque 1.8-mile, 14-turn downtown, waterfront circuit is now the site of the season finale for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with a championship on the line between two drivers, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon and Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden.

(October 1, 2020) – Officials from the City of St. Petersburg and Green Savoree St. Petersburg, LLC (GSSP) announced today that the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, rescheduled to October 23-25, will be open to spectators. The event was postponed from its original March date due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

At today’s City of St. Petersburg City Council Meeting, Mayor Rick Kriseman with the support of City Council approved GSSP’s plans to operate the event with 20,000 spectators under specific health and safety protocols. Event Will Serve as the 2020 INDYCAR Finale

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 13, 2020) – The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has been rescheduled to October 23-25, 2020, officials from the City of St. Petersburg, Green Savoree St. Petersburg, LLC (GSSP) and INDYCAR confirmed today. The event will now feature the crowning of the 2020 NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion on Sunday, Oct. 25 since the original March 13th-15th weekend was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Locally Based St. Petersburg Company Is Named the Official Car Wash

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 4, 2020) – Woodie’s Wash Shack (www.woodieswash.com), a national express car wash, is now the official car wash of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg to be held next weekend, March 13-15. Woodie’s has recently opened its first location on 66th St. in Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Fla., and will open another eight locations throughout the Tampa Bay area in 2020. It also has two locations under construction in Memphis, Tenn.
